S2MA provides regularly scheduled expeditions for entry-level climbers to Tanzania, Nepal, Mongolia, Iceland, Chile and other exciting destinations. These trips are carefully planned to develop your confidence in advanced terrain, and many require no previous experience. Well supported and skillfully organized, your alpine experience promises to be the best.
Intermediate and advanced-level climbers are invited to join us on an expedition customized to your personal goals, experience and schedule. The diverse skills and leadership experience S2MA staff bring to the planning and execution of an expedition are unique, resulting in remarkable success on expeditions to the world’s most challenging environments, including Antarctica, Congo, Papua, Northern Bolivia, Bhutan, Mongolia and other locations where external support is unavailable. This autumn expedition journeys through lava deserts, golden moss valleys, and glacier-carved ridges where few travelers venture. From the technicolor peaks to the mirror-still waters, each step is a reminder that adventure here is written by the elements themselves.
Everest Base Camp

The Everest Base Camp (EBC) Expedition Team will explore the Khumbu Valley in Nepal’s Sagarmatha National Park. Graced with the highest peaks in the world and a beautiful culture, the Khumbu Valley is an epic journey with stunning landscape, ancient culture, and wonderful people.
Among the highlights are Everest Base Camp, the summit of Kalla Patthar, and visits to remote monasteries and cultural sites. This is a hybrid expedition that also offers options for trekkers to cross the Kongma La Pass and climb to the summit of Chukhung Ri (non-technical). Experienced climbers are invited to join us on Imja Tse (Island Peak, technical-intermediate) and Ama Dablam (technical-advanced).
